Best of 2010

So, I have begun compiling my "best of" mix for 2010. Sometimes it's an even 20 or some such, but mostly its the best stuff that can fit onto a cd. This is a best albums list, and not a best tracks, although my favorite tracks off of said albums are what make up the cd. Albums is no danger of being bumped before the year is out include Deerhunter's Halcyon Digest, Beach House's Teen Dream, and Arcade Fire's The Suburbs. Other artists who have topped previous years' lists with other albums now find themselves towards the bottom of this year's top, with about two tracks worth of room still remaining. Assuming nothing spectacular arrives on the scene in the next 2 1/2 months, Micah P. Hinson's Pioneer Saboteurs, Midlake's The Courage of Others, and the Broken Bells' self-titled debut will close out the list around track 17 or so. Other bands to looks for in the in between are Phosphorescent, Belle & Sebastian, and Ted Leo & the Pharmacists. More to come.
